General terms and routes

Territorial continuity refers to the principle and practice of ensuring transport connections between mainland Italy and its islands.

Check-in

Passengers who have purchased a territorial continuity fare may check in online through the website or app from 48 (forty-eight) hours before the flight until 1 (one) hour before the scheduled departure time.

As an alternative to online check-in, passengers may purchase the airport check-in service either during the booking process or afterwards, online through the website or app, or directly at the airport. The cost of the service is indicated in the “Fees and Surcharges” table.

Conditions for accessing territorial continuity fares

During the same online transaction, tickets for passengers eligible for discounted fares cannot be purchased together with tickets for passengers who are not eligible for the same fares.

Different types of passengers eligible for discounted fares may not be included in the same booking either. By way of example, this includes a resident/equivalent passenger and a family member, or a worker and a family member. In such cases, separate bookings must be made.

To access the discounted fare, during the booking process the passenger must complete a declaration in lieu of an affidavit pursuant to Article 47 of Italian Presidential Decree No. 445 of 28 December 2000, certifying their degree of kinship or assistance relationship with a person residing in Sardinia, or the work-related reason justifying their journey to Sardinia.

The declaration must be printed, completed and presented at boarding together with a valid identity document.

Falsely declaring eligibility for the discounted fare will result in the matter being reported to the competent authorities and will entitle Aeroitalia to request:

  • payment of the full public fare applicable to the relevant route;
  • a penalty of EUR 500.00 for each ticket used improperly.
